Emporiblog - Acorn Magic

Hello all!! Today's post is about Acorn Magic!

I've only recently come across this magic, if you know of any more lesser known magicks that interest you, let us know!

An Acorn is the seed/nut from an Oak tree and other members of the Oak family. An Oak tree will only produce Acorns after it reaches the age of 40 or there abouts. September to October is the best time to collect Acorns, you can even use an Acorn to tell the health and condition of the tree and how it's faired in previous seasons. Oak trees have several myths and associations from numerous cultures and religions including:

- The Celts/Druids
- Romans
- Norse Mythology
- Greeks
- Teutonic Tribes

So it's no surprise that Acorns have their own branch of magic.

What are Acorns associated with?

Acorns are associated with the following:

- New Life
- Fertility
- Abundance
- Strength
- Prosperity
- Protection
- Fire
- Water
- The Sun
- Nature

They would also make a nice addition to an Autumn/Mabon/Lammas altar.

What are Acorns used for?

Acorns have a number of properties and specific ways to use those properties, for example, carrying an Acorn will keep loneliness at bay and help banish illness, they can also bring health and longevityWearing an Acorn amulet around your neck will bring protection. Placing an Acorn on your window ledge is said to attract prosperity and luck and having one in your car is said to stop you getting lost.

Acorns pair nicely with carnelian, Jasper and rose quartz. The also give a nice boost to healing, prosperity and protection Spells.

Bonus

If you're single and have a crush/potential suiter but aren't sure if you should act apon it, you can use Acorns for guidance. Here's how:

- Get 2 Acorns

- Write your name on one and your crushes/potential suiters name on the other

- Place in water e.g decent size bowl, tub or sink

If the Acorns move closer together, it means that you're a good match. If they drift apart, it indicates that a union would be unsuccessful.

I hope you've enjoyed this post, if I come across more magicks like this, I'll share them with you!

Blessings,
