Crystal Wednesday - Crystals That Cannot Go In Water

Helli all!! Today's Crystal Wednesday is about Crystals that cannot go in water!!

As you know, there are many ways to cleanse Crystals and use Crystals in ritual/spellwork but, not every cleansing method is safe for every Crystal. Some can't go in sunlight, some can't go in salt and some can't go in water.

If you're just starting out, you might not know what can and can't go in what. This is where we come in!!

Crystals not safe for water

Below is a list of Crystals that aren't water safe. As there are so many Crystals, more are being added to this list all the time so I will be making updated lists as and when I find out:

- Any crystal that contains Copper!
- Azurite
- Fluorite
- Pyrite
- Talc
- Kunzite
- Aquamarine
- Kyanite
- Turquoise
- Ruby
- Amazonite
- Moonstone
- Desert Rose
- Lapis Lazuli
- Calcite
- Gypsum
- Malachite
- Angelite
- Celestine
- Amber
- Selenite
- Opal/Fire Opal (Australian Boulder Opal is water safe)

- Red Coral
- Apophyllite
- Tangerine Quartz
- Lepidolite

- Labradorite
- Hematite

I am unsure what makes these Crystals unsafe in water but it's best to be safe!

If you have any questions about Crystals or want to learn more, our resident Crystal Therapist Kerenza has Crystal courses that run throughout the year. If you're interested, send us a message on our website 😉

I'll cover other aspects of Crystal safety in future posts!

  1. Many of these I can understand...but ruby?! Is it because there is a toxic metal in the crystal? xxx
