Hello everyone, Spooky Season is apon us and my favourite time of the year approaches however, this time of year is also a worrisome time for pet owners particularly those of us with Cats.
Black Cats in particular are often targeted and/or stolen around this time due to the long lasting 'belief' that they are bad luck, which is utter NONSENSE to put it politely. This 'belief' is still causing unnecessary harm and distress to both owners and pets so, here are some tips to help keep your Cats safe during this time...
Tip 1
This one goes without saying but KEEP THEM INDOORS! Especially at night and in the fortnight leading up to Halloween and Halloween itself. Make sure they're indoors before you go to bed and make sure they can't get out while you're asleep.
Tip 2
Put protections on them. This can be done by:
- Adding runes/wards/glyphs/sigils to thier collars and tags
- Making protection Spell Jars specially for your pet
- Performing a protection Spell/ritual
Tip 3
Ask the deity/deities you're working with to watch over and protect your pet. If you're looking for specific pet protection, try asking a deity that is associated with them e.g Cats and Bast/Bastet.
Make sure your Cats are microchipped and the information is up to date.
Always check on your outdoor Cats when they return and make a note of any strange behaviour.
If they do not return within their usual time frame, it's important to act fast and have a recent photo. Check neighbours gardens/sheds first, then the surrounding area. Call local shelters and spread the word as fast as possible.
May you and your pets be safe during this time!
Blessings,
