Tarot Tuesday - The Chariot
Hello all! Our Major Arcana series returns with The Chariot!
The Chariot rolls into the Major Arcana at number 7 as is associated with the element of Water and the Moon.
History
In the past, The Chariot has been referred to as The Centurion and Victory. Throughout the history of the Tarot, there has been some debate about who the original Charioteer was and why it was depicted as a woman in some Decks and as a man in others.

The purpose of this section is to help you with your own interpretations.
In the card pictured above, we can see a scantily clad ginger woman with bits of blue cloth attached to gold bits, keeping the cloth in place. We can see a large snake, wearing the bones of its predecessor as armour and looking directly at her. The serpent is chained with a thick silver chain that is fixed to what looks like an augmented symbol of the maiden, which is strange since The Chariots star sign association is Cancer ♋ not Virgo ♍. There is also an augmented alchemical symbol for Water in the background, instead of just being an upsidedown triangle, it's an upsidedown triangle with a line through it. Both symbols are cracked in places, suggesting that they've been there a while.
Meaning
The Chariot is all about perceverance and going forward. It means that you need to keep going forwardforward with confidence and drive. Your ambitions are true and should be followed as best you can to achieve them. If there are obstacles in your way, have patience. You will overcome them but you need to keep going forward in order to do so. Keep working hard and stay true to your commitments and you will be rewarded. Do not doubt the strength of your will during this time. The Chariot can also symbolise an upcoming journey. Whatever this journey is, it's important that you go on it with confidence, not arrogance, to have a successful journey.
Reversed Meaning
A reversed Chariot means that you lack direction or are having trouble deciding which direction to take. Your energies are scattered instead of focused which is making it difficult to choose your direction. It can also indicate that you are doubting yourself which is also bringing your energies down. Before you make a decision, you need to realign your energies and wait until you're in a better headspace so your judgement isn't impeded. You need to be patient and gather your strength.
Everyone has their own interpretation of Tarot. Interpretations differ from person to person.
I hope you've enjoyed this weeks Tarot Tuesday! We'll continue with the Major Arcana for a few weeks before we take another break!
Blessings and start keeping your pets inside at night, especially black Cats!
