Tarot Tuesday - Strength
Hello all!! Today's Tarot Tuesday is Strength!
Strength sits at either 8 or 11 depending on the Deck (in this Deck it's 11) and is associated with the element of Fire and the Sun.
History
As stated in our Justice post, the Rider-Waite Deck switched Justice and Strength around to better fit with the card to astrological correspondence worked out by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. In historical Decks, Strength was sometimes called Fortitude and was even called Lust in the Thoth Deck. It is also one of 3 cardinal virtues (Justice and Temperance being the other 2).

The purpose of this section is to help you with your own interpretations.
In the card pictured above, we can see a semi-nude female with tattoos on one side of her body. It looks like she is partially wearing some kind of dragonesque costume. She appears to be standing on some steps that lead to an abandoned, stone building of some description. We can also see an overgrown, bare bush and some sort of tree in the background.
Meaning
Strength is a good card to draw if you're fighting/recovering from an illness, injury or traumatic event. It is a card of confidence that can give hope to those who need it. It also means that you shouldn't doubt your physical, emotional and spiritual Strength. It is also a sign that you need to dig deep and find your inner Strength and believe in yourself! (Easier said than done I know!) Depending on your question and it's place in the draw, Strength shows that the outcome to your problem/situation with be positive and in your favour so, enjoy the power and vitality that you gain from it but don't get too wrapped up in it!
Reversed Meaning
A reversed Strength shows hedonism, meaning that your pursuit of pleasure and self indulgence has gotten out of hand and/or has impacted/is impacting your life negativity, it can also indicate that this trait in someone else is negatively impacting you. You also lack self control, which is hindering you and stopping you from reaching your potential. It also indicates a lack of courage on your part or from those involved, depending on your question. You are also doubting yourself. You need to take some time to reassess yourself and find your inner Strength! On the other end of the negative side, your inner Strength and self confidence has turned to arrogance and you have become vain and this vanity is impacting the situation negatively. You need to reflect and understand how your confidence changed into arrogance to undo it.
Everyone has their own interpretation of Tarot. Interpretations differ from person to person.
I hope you've enjoyed this weeks Tarot Tuesday!!
Blessings,
