Tarot Tuesday - Wheel Of Fortune

Hello all!! Today's Tarot Tuesday is The Wheel Of Fortune!!

The Wheel Of Fortune is number 10 in the Major Arcana and is associated with the element of Fire and the planet Jupiter.

History

The Wheel Of Fortune came with the inception of Tarot in the 15th century as a representation of the medieval concept of Rota Fortunae which roughly translates to Wheel Of Fortuna. Fortuna is the Roman Goddess of Luck/Fortune, which makes sense as some of the earliest Tarot Decks originated from Italy.

Pictured above...

The purpose of this section is to help you with your own interpretations.

In the card pictured above, we can see a yellowish and purple dragon that looks like it's body forms a circle with its outstretched wing almost touching its curved and coiled tail. The dragyis looking at a lady that seems to be resting against its tail. The lady has a hand outstretched towards the dragon with a blue rose in her hand with a thorny vine wrapped around her wrist. She also has a bare chest, an underbust corset and a long, dusty-cream coloured skirt, she also has pale red dragon wings sprouting from her back. The figures seem to be the focal point of a a swirling vortex of some kind.

Meaning

The Wheel Of Fortune has a literal representative purpose for life cycles but how you interpret that depends on your question and the other cards in the reading. It can also represent a turning point in your life that is either happening or will happen soon. Destiny, fate and karma are all represented positively here, what is happening now or what is to come is supposed to happen and will be in your favour. If you're asking about taking a chance then, depending on the other cards, you should go for that chance.

Reversed Meaning

A reversed Wheel Of Fortune is not a card you want to draw. It foretells of incoming or ongoing upheavals. Any luck you receive will be lousy or completely bad. Changes will be unwelcomed ones which will lead to setbacks and a general sense of chaos and feeling lost. All of this will be caused by external forces. Depending on your question, the other cards in the reading may tell you how to combat these forces or separate reading may be needed in order for you to regain control.

Everyone has their own interpretation of Tarot. Interpretations differ from person to person.

I hope you've enjoyed this weeks Tarot Tuesday! Next week we'll either continue with the Major Arcana or we'll do a spread!

Blessings,
