Crystal Wednesday - Selenite

Hello all! Today's Crystal Wednesday is Selenite!



Selenite is part of the gypsum family and often has a clay like texture. Selenite doesn't have a particular month association but it is associated with the elements of Air and Water, the 3rd Eye, Crown and Etheric Chakras, the Moon and is considered an honorary gemstone of Cancer. The Selenite pictured above is in a raw stick form.




The Meaning Of...

When Selenite was discovered in 1747 by J.G Wallerius, he decided that the name Selenite would be both a fitting name a tribute to Selene, the Greek Goddess of the Moon. 



Healing Properties

Selenite is a strong yet peaceful stone that can help:

- Relieve pain
- Ease inflammation
- Reduce congestion
- Align the spine
- Fight addictions


Do not substitute ongoing treatment for Mookaite, use only to boost current treatment.




Magical Uses

In magical practices, Selenite is used for:

- Clearing negativity/negative thoughts
- Enhancing calmness
- Repairing psychic auras
- Cleansing
- Balance
- Helping energy control
- Connection to the higher self
