Emporiblog - Which Witch Are You? pt IX

Hello all!! Were continuing our Which Witch series with part 9! Let's see who we have today......

Urban Witch

Urban Witch is a blanket term for a Witch that practices within a city or other urban area. Unlike traditional Witchcraft, which is rooted in nature, Urban Witches have to improvise to the best of their ability to make their practice their own. Constant noise, lack of space and access to ingredients are a constant annoyance but, as they grow more confident, an Urban Witch can find ways to overcome these obstacles such as, drowning out the sound with music, finding ingredients in shops or online and utilising their space to the best of their abilities, e.g growing plants/herbs in jars and in window boxes. The Urban Witch may also be very aware of any nature within their city, such as, parks, flower boxes, trees etcetc and may find solace in these little nature pockets. If you feel at home in the city and have no problem finding resourceful ways to practice your craft, the the Urban Witch moniker might be for you! Further reading 👇🏻

White Witch

A White Witch is a Witch that uses their magic and power to make positive changes to themselves, the world and those around them. Although this term has Pagan roots, it doesn't mean that a White Witch has to bring a religious element to their practice. The general code of the White Witch is that their magic should only help instead of harm however, "help" does depend on the individual Witch. It's is possible for magic to go awry sometimes, despite the best intentions of the Witch as magic cannot always be predictable. That being said, the main Spells in a White Witches arsenal usually are, Protection, Blessings and Healing but any magic can be used if the individual Witch feels that said magic can be used for good intentions. If you want to make a positive change to the world and prefer to stay away from baneful magicks and anything that you perceive as harmful, then you may be a White Witch! Further reading 👇🏻

Pagan Witch

Before I get into this section I need to clear something up. Not every Pagan is a Witch and not every Witch is a Pagan. A Pagan Witch is someone who combines Paganism with Witchcraft and bases their practice around Paganism. This actually makes sense as both Paganism and Witchcraft are nature based and both center around understanding and working with the Earth and nature. I will do a separate post on Paganism to go into more detail. Until then, for further reading 👇🏻

Wiccan Witch

Now, Wicca and Paganism are NOT the same (more on that later!). Again, not all Wiccans are Witches and not all Witches are Wiccans. Wicca is also nature based but it is more structured and includes the 3 Fold Rule. There are also many paths within the Wiccan path itself so Wicca is as a blanket term. Again, I will be doing a more in-depth post, until then 👇🏻

Unfortunately, we are coming to the end of our Which Witch series. I may be able to get 2 or 3 more posts into this series. However, more paths are coming to light every day so this series is probably far from over!

Blessings,
