Emporiblog - Love Spells
Thanks to films, books and TV, Love Spells are often shown as harmless Magic that someone does for fun and ends up with their true love. But, this is NOT how it works. Love Spells are extremely complicated and if it goes wrong, the consequences are disastrous!! Because of the "harmless" portrail of Love Spells, many teenagers and young Witches will mess with Love Spells without realising the damage they can do. This post will highlight what to do and what not to do to keep yourself and others safe....
- First and foremost, USE PROTECTION!! No matter what kind of spell you're doing, you need to protect yourself, those around you and those indirectly involved (kids, pets, those who are close but not involved etc).
- Do not perform Love Spells/Spells in general that remove the ability to consent. This one should be a no brainer. It doesn't matter if "you're totally meant to be" or "they are the one", you CANNOT force someone to do something and revoke their consent.
- Magic is not a toy. Do not perform magicks if you don't know what you are doing.
What can go wrong...
There are several things that can go wrong here, including Love turning into obsession. This can take several forms, ranging from the person constantly being in your dreams to stalking. I'm not exaggerating or saying this just to scare you. If Love becomes obsession, it will turn dangerous and then you will need to reverse your Spell (or ask someone more experienced to help). If this doesn't work and the physical behaviour escalates, you will need to contact local law enforcement.
What to do...
There are safer things that you can do to help you in matters of the heart, including:
- Divination. You can ask questions to Tarot, Runes, Bones, Coins etc but remember to cleanse and protect!
- Wax. Again, cleans and protect! Get a bowl of cold water and a candle. Light the candle and hold it over the bowl. As the wax drips and cools, shapes and letters may form, which might give you the answers that you seek. Practice fire safety!
- Apple peel. We mentioned this in our Apple Magic post but here's a recap. Peel an apple but try to keep the peel as one continuous spiral. Drop the peel on the floor and the initials of your crush or someone who likes you should appear. Again, protect and cleanse!
I think we'll leave this here. I know that Valentine's Day is approaching so I thought that this post would be appropriate. If you choose to perform Love Spells during this time, do so at your own risk and do your research!!
