Emporiblog - Altar Items - Elements

Hello all!! It's been a while since we've had a post from our mini Altar series so here we go with Elements!!

The Elements are all around us and without them we wouldn't have the world we have now so, it makes sense that we use these Elements in Witchcraft. Even if you don't work with Deities/Entities, chances are you've invoked an Element or 2 or gravitate towards a specific one. Here are some ways that you can represent each element, starting with my favourite:

Fire

Fire can be represented by:

- Candles, both battery powered and normal

- Incense

- Lighters, Matches, anything that can be used in ignition

- The colours red, orange and yellow

- Fire imagery, pictures of fire, volcanoes etc

- Volcanic rocks

- Coal

Water

Water can be represented by:

- A bowl of water

- The colours blue, green and the shades in-between

- Sea shells

- Water imagery, pictures of bodys of Water, rain etc

- Mermaid/Sea creature imagery

- Boat/ship imagery

- Driftwood

Earth

Earth can be represented with the following:

- Soil, rocks/crystals, stones, sand, coal, anything that comes from the Earth

- Plants, both alive and dried

- Earthy colours like browns and greens

- Images of nature e.g deserts, rainforests, woodland area etc

- Salt

- Tree bark/Sticks and branches

Air

Air can be represented with:

- Incense

- Feathers

- Bird imagery

- The colours yellow and purple

- Mountain imagery

- Pictures of clouds and the weather

- Music sheets/instruments

- Writing

- Sound bowls/Bells

I think we'll leave this here!! Remember that you don't need to have an Altar to practice Witchcraft, not everyone has the time or the space!!

Blessings,
