Emporiblog - Hexes, Jinxes and Curses

Hello all!! Today's post will explain the differences between Hexes, Jinxes and Curses!!

If Baneful Magicks aren't your thing, look away now!!

So, let's start with,

Jinx

Jinxes are surprisingly, relatively harmless. At the very least, all they will do inconvenience your target, at the most, they will be an annoyance. Jinxes are also temporary but it is possible to set a time period for your Jinx to last for.

Due to the rather timid nature of Jinxes (compared to the other 2)  it may be difficult to ascertain whether or not you Jinx has worked unless you are still close to the individual or happen to hear something on the grapevine.

The purpose of a Jinx is to try and help you feel better about your situation and is a good practice for the next step up.....

Hexes

A Hex is comprised of negativity energy that has been sent towards your target, depending on your intentions of course. Like Jinxes, Hexes are temporary but generally last longer depending on the specifications.

Hexes either stay in motion for a set period of time (e.g Full Moon to Full Moon or for an entire season) or until the target has actually learned their lesson, which may take some time depending on said target.

As they are slightly more powerful than Jinxes, a Hex will take a lot more energy to cast so make sure you're ready beforehand.

Curses

Curses are nasty and can destroy lives. Unlike the previous 2, Curses can last for an unspecified amount of time, in some cases, through several generations and several centuries. A Curse can be placed on an individual, a familial line or even a place

Curses should be reserved for the worst of the worst and should not be used lightly. If you are going to Curse someone, make sure they deserve it and make sure that you are prepared. You will use a lot of energy casting a Curse, so keep your well-being in mind.

How To Prepare

Here are somethings you need to do before you perform any of the above:

- RESEARCH!! You need to know what you are doing and know exactly what you're going to do and use

- PROTECTION!! Even if any of the above are justified, it can still be sent back so make sure that your protections are as strong as they can be and reinforced

- Make sure you're ready. If you have completed the above steps, the next step is making sure that you yourself are ready to cast, have the ability to cast and the ability to recouperate after casting

- Are you justified? Ask yourself if the Jinx, Hex or Curse is justified. If not, don't do it. They're not something to do just for the hell of it

I think we'll leave this here!! Next up will be a simple Return To Sender Spell post that will be safe for everyone to use!!

Although we don't explicitly practice Baneful Magicks, we do still carry items in our shop that can be used for Baneful workings.

Blessings,
