Emporiblog - Return To Sender
I should point out that there are multiple ways and multiple variations of an RTS and there is no right or wrong method. There are also Baneful RTS methods, but that's another topic entirely.
What is an RTS?
A Return To Sender Spell is something that can send negativity back to the person that sent it to you. Whether it's just standard negativity or a Hex, an RTS will do the job but, you may have to adjust your Spell accordingly depending on what has been sent to you.
The Spell
I will detail a few simple methods for you to choose from but, first and foremost, cleanse yourself (we have posts on cleansing if you're stuck), your space and your tools and up your protections!! Now on to the first method....
Method 1
You will need:
- A candle. Preferably a taper candle. Black and red seem to be the most popular choices but white is also a good choice
- Something to light the candle with.
- Something sharp to carve the candle with. Like a toothpick. Use caution!!
- Salt
For this method, simply carve Return To Sender into the candle (carefully), make sure your candle is secure, make a salt ring around it, then light it! You can recite a verbal incantation if you feel the need to, something along the lines of:
"I return this unjust energy to the one who sent it. So mote it be."
Or words to that effect.
For bonus points, anoint the candle with safe anointing oil and roll in chili flakes for added effect. You can also place your candle holder over an RTS Sigil.
You can also add other protective herbs like rosemary and cloves to your salt circle.
Method 2
For this one, you will need:
- A piece of paper
- Something to write with
- Something to burn it in. Use caution!!
If you know the name of the person who sent the energy to you, write their name on a piece of paper and fold it away from you 3 times. Then burn it in a fire safe container whilst saying a RTS incantation. You can save the ashes for future workings.
If you can't burn anything, write the name, fold it and flush it down the toilet, whilst saying your incantation.
If you don't know the name, write something like this:
"Whoever sends negativity my way will have it returned 3 fold."
Repeat the above steps.
Method 3
You will need:
- A lit black candle.
- A mirror. Preferably mounted (cleanse and lock your mirror first!)
For this one, stand in front of a mirror with the lit candle and repeat an RTS incantation as many times as you feel necessary. Something like:
"I send back the negativity,
That you have sent me.
Whether you're near or across the sea,
Prepare to receive your negativity.
So mote it be."
I think we'll leave this here!! Feel free to take the above Methods and make them your own!! You can add Crystals, herbs/flowers, incense or any other ingredients you feel necessary.
Unfortunately, even if you send negativity or Baneful Magicks to someone that are justified, they may try to send it back but, if you are truly justified, you will come out on top eventually!!
