Edible Parts

Apparently, the Flowers and Buds are safe to consume but ONLY in small amounts as they do contain toxins that will cause problems if consumed in large amounts.

Medicinal Uses

As the flowers are technically poisonous in large amounts, it is not recommended to use this plant medicinally.

Magical Uses

In magical practices, Common Gorse is used for:

- Spring Equinox
- Money Spells
- Love
- Protection
- Restoring faith
- Hope
- Optimism
- Protection from the Fae (Welsh folklore)

There is also a Celtic Ogham rune for Gorse, which is said to have protective properties.
