Tarot Tuesday - Ace of Swords

Hello all!! We're finally starting our Minor Arcana series with the Ace of Swords!!

The Ace of Swords is associated with the element of Air and the planet Venus.

History

The suit of Swords itself, is popular amongst Italian and Spanish playing cards as well as Tarot cards. As the suits change constantly from place to place, finding the history of each individual Minor Arcana will be difficult to ascertain.

Pictured above...

The purpose of this section is to help you with your own interpretations.

In the card pictured above, we can see a a single sword pointing downwards with a skull at the base/top of the hilt. The sword is through a crown that has leaves/branches sprouting from it. In the background, we can see 3 larger stars, 2 at the top and one at the bottom, amongst the other smaller ones.

Meaning

An upright Ace of Swords indicates clarity, particularly of the mind. Visions and ideas will come to fruition or at least start to take shape. You may also uncover truths that have been hidden from you and/or things will seem clearer, like a fog has been cleared. Your concentration is completely focused on your goals. If you find your focus shifting, don't fight it! This new focus could help point you in the direction you're supposed to be going in and will be beneficial to you. That breakthrough you have been waiting for will happen, either soon or when you least expect it!

Reversed Meaning

A reversed Ace of Swords is less pleasant. Your mind is clouded which is causing some confusion on your part. This is leading to miscommunications which is breeding hostility. You need to clear your mind and revisit the situation to clear up any misunderstanding. It can also foretell of an accident in regards to your question/situation. It will either be minor and fixable or completely catastrophic, depending on how you deal with the situation. If the accident has already occurred, you may require a separate reading on how to stop it escalating or on how to better cope with it.

I think we'll leave this here!! I finally decided on what Deck to use, so, join us on our journey through the Minor Arcana!! I decided to change Deck because I felt that this one better fits the imagery to the suit. If you have any questions, please look through our past Tarot blogs or feel free to ask!!

Blessings,
