Tarot Tuesday - Five of Swords

Hello all!! Today's Tarot Tuesday is the Five of Swords!!

The Five of Swords is associated with the element of Air and the planets Venus and Pluto.

Pictured above...

The purpose of this section is to help you with your own interpretations.

In the card pictured above, we can see a hooded skeleton holding 2 upright swords in his left hand and a downwards pointing sword in his right. There are 2 more sword impaled in a rock. In the background, we can see what looks like an ocean and what I assume is a new or a full moon. There are some clouds in the sky and 4 prominent stars in this one.

Meaning

An upright Five of Swords is not a good one. There is conflict surrounding you and your situation which will inevitably lead to disagreements (if it hasn't already) which will make the situation worse. There will be competition that you need to prepare for but, you mustn't take it too far. If you're the type that must win at the cost of everything, you have already lost in this situation as this attitude is leading to more disagreements and conflict. You must either except defeat and use it to communicate and possibly reach a compromise that will benefit everyone or continue the conflict which is in no-one's best interest. Defeat, in this case, might actually solve the problem and allow you to begin again with a clearer head, providing that you can understand why you've lost.

Reversed Meaning

A reversed Five of Swords is more positive. It shows that now is the time to start making ammends and reconcile. The situation that caused the fall out has passed but, there are still things that need to be cleared up and fixed before everyone can fully move on. You need to stop putting it off at take the first step, but you must do it slowly and in pace with the other party/parties. You will only be able to achieve this if you stop holding on to past resentment. Understanding where the resentment stems from may be the focal point of the reconciliation.
