Tarot Tuesday - Three of Swords

Hello all!! Today's Tarot Tuesday is the Three of Swords!!

The Three of Swords is associated with the element of Air and the planet Venus.

Pictured above...

The purpose of this section is to help you with your own interpretations.

In the card pictured above, we can see 3 Swords piercing a floating, heart shaped ribcage, one through each side and one through the middle. In the background, we can see 3 larger stars, 2 at the top and one at the bottom. It looks like there are some clouds in the background among the smaller stars.

Meaning

The Three of Swords is one of the more depressing cards in any Deck. An upright Three of Swords isn't a card that you want to draw. In matters of love, it means that heartbeat may occur which can either be fixed, depending on the other cards, or it will happen no matter what and you will need to brace yourself. It also signifies trauma, which you have either already experienced, are currently going through or will go though (each represented by one of the 3 Swords). Trauma is a very personal thing and how you deal with it depends on you but, said trauma is (or will end up) holding you back and is stopping you from moving forward. You may be experiencing or are going to experience loss and subsequently, grief, however, you must not let the sadness and sorrow engulf you. You must allow yourself to grieve properly or it will consume you. You may also be experiencing a separation or separation anxiety from someone or something, you need to find out why you feel this way and find a way to overcome this.

Reversed Meaning

A reversed Three of Swords is slightly better but there is still a lot to work through. This reversed card is a card of healing. There is no right way to heal, it's all individual but if you draw this card, it's time to start healing or at least figure out how to try and start, even if it's just one baby step at a time. Now is also time for forgiveness and (possible) reconciliation, depending on the situation. This means that it's time to work through what has happened, analyse it and see if the above is possible for you. If you're still not ready, that's fine, as you have assessed the situation and decided what was best for you, there may come a time for you to extend or accept the olive branch, let this card serve as a reminder. It is also a sign to start your recovery, it'll be a long, hard road but it needs to be done so you can move forward. It doesn't matter if you take teeny tiny steps or a giant leap, you do what works for you to allow you to start healing. But, before you can do any of this, you need to understand and/or get rid of any repressed emotions as they will stop you from moving forward and keep you stuck in your current situation. This is a card for shadow work and is a sign to start as shadow work will help you understand your emotions and help you heal.
