Hello all!! Today we're going to talk about the uses of Rain Water in Witchcraft!!
We've already covered Storm Water, the lightning charged cousin of Rain Water, so, we might as well cover Rain Water especially since it's raining right now!!
In the UK, we get a lot of rain and that's no exaggeration so it makes sense for us to make use of a natural ingredient for our craft!! Let's have a look at some of the numerous things you can do with Rain Water....
Uses of Rain Water in Witchcraft
Here are some of the many uses of Rain Water:
- Base for sprays
- Protection
- Cleansing - sprays, floor wash, bath water etc
- Anointing
- Offerings
- Blessing spaces
- Circle casting
- Scrying (place in a black bowl)
- Plant water - with intention
- Kitchen Witchery - with intention
- Charging crystals
- Growth
- Rebirth
Of course, the properties of Rain Water can change or be enhanced depending on when and where it's collected, including the following:
Moon Phase
New - Bringing in, new projects
Waxing - New beginnings/opportunities, blessings
Full - Purification, offerings, ritual/spell tool cleansing/blessings
Dark/Waning - Hex breaking and Banishing
Rain collected from a tree
Rowan - Strength, boosting Magick
Oak - Healing, strength, offerings/god energy, longevity
Birch - Purification, fertility/birth, rebirth, cleansing
Hazel - Divination, strength, wisdom
Holly - Courage, masculine energy, authority
Ash - Spiritual work, balance
Elder - Prosperity, healing, Goddess energy, wisdom
Elm - Protection
Hawthorne - Love, cleansing, The Fae
Pine - Cleansing, prosperity, healing, fertility
(If collecting from a tree, I would advise against consuming unless you are 100% sure it's safe to drink).
There are Baneful uses of Rain Water but the internet isn't providing much in the way of answers.
