Emporiblog - Which Witch Closed Edition - Slavic

Hello all!! Our Which Witch series is (finally!!) returning and shedding light on closed practices, starting with Slavic Witchcraft!!

DISCLAIMER: This is a closed practices and cannot be practiced by everyone, including myself! I have done my best to research as much as possible but since I cannot practice this, resources are limited.

Slavic Witchcraft is a very personal craft with a rich history. Sadly, many have tried to erase that history over the centuries which is why the practice is now closed, to preserve what has managed to survive.

From what I understand, you can practice Slavic Witchcraft if you are Slavic and/or have Slavic ancestors that you can communicate with who can teach you Slavic practices. You can also practice if you've been adopted into a Slavic family.

This also means that the Slavic pantheons are closed. The Slavic pantheon is polytheistic and quite vast and varies depending on where you live or where your ancestors lived; some Deities are similar but have different names. During the periods of Christianisation, the Slavic pantheons and their respective Deities were demonised and later replaced with saints so, very little of the original sources have survived.

If you are unsure of anything, ask a Slavic practitioner as they can give you more information than I can, since I cannot practice Slavic paths.

I think we'll leave this here! I feel that it is important to shed light on closed practices so that you can educate yourself on other practices so, you can avoid appropriating a practice.

If anything I have stated in this post is incorrect or if I have missed anything, please let me know so I can ammend it immediately!

Blessings,
