Flora Friday - Foxglove
Hello all!! Today's Flora Friday is Foxglove!!
Foxglove (Digitalis) is a genus of about 20 different species of flowering plants that belong to the Plantaginaceae family. This is a Common Foxglove Digitalis Purpurea. Other names for Foxglove and Common Foxglove include:

Where To Find
Foxglove is native to Europe, Northwestern Africa and Western Asia. Common Foxglove is usually an ornamental plant so can often be found in gardens and parks.
Edible Parts
FOXGLOVE IS DEADLY DO NOT CONSUME!!
According to some studies, consuming 0.5 grams of dried leaves or only 2 grams of fresh leaves is enough kill someone.
Foxglove is safe to grow providing your pets and you don't eat them!
Medical Uses
Foxglove was once used in herbal medicine however, Foxglove is deadly to humans and some animals so it's use was stopped!
Magickal Uses
In magickal practices, Foxglove is used for:
- Protection
- Psychic ability/Visions
- Connection to the Underworld
- Communication with the dead
- Fae Magick (use caution)
- Breaking enchantments (especially Fae enchantments)
As this plant is extremely toxic, it is a very useful plant for Baneful workings!!
If burning or using in general, do NOT inhale the smoke and don't let it touch your skin!
