Tarot Tuesday - Nine of Swords
Hello all!! Today's Tarot Tuesday is the Nine of Swords!! (Yes I double checked!)
The Nine of Swords is associated with the element of Air and the planet Mars (I've also seen Mercury and Venus).
Pictured above...
The purpose of this section is to help you with your own interpretations.
In the card pictured above, we can see a robed skeleton sitting on something, possibly a bed. The skeleton is in despair as it has it's head in its hand and looks like it's about to cry (technically not possible but I'm sure we've all been there). In the background, there are 9 Swords, 5 pointing to the right and 4 pointing to the left. The bottom Sword looks like it is piercing through the skeletons chest and the one above that one, looks like it it piercing through the skeletons skull.
Meaning
An upright Nine of Swords is not a happy card. It is a card of anxiety and everything that comes with it: fear, worry and depression. If you are asking about a specific situation, this is what awaits you if it hasn't happened already. You need to either check the other cards in the reading or have a more in-depth one to figure out how to prevent and/or deal with this. You may also experience nightmares during this time. These nightmares may actually hold the answers you seek and you can either work them out yourself, with a dream journal or shadow work, or go to a professional (if this option is available to you).
Reversed Meaning
A reversed Nine of Swords is still an unhappy car but it does lead to a better ending. This card shows that you have inner turmoil, most likely caused by deep seated fears and secrets. You need to understand and work through your fears or at least work through them enough for them to not have such a mental hold over you. You're secrets are your own but: why are you keeping them? You need to ask yourself why you keep them and if you still need to keep them. If you don't, you can free up some space in your mind. Once you have figured out the above and started to work through everything, you can begin to release your worry.
Mental health is no laughing matter and is just as important as physical health. It's ok to take time out to focus on it!
