Adding Crystals To Things

Hello all!! Today's post is all about adding Crystals to things!!

For those of you that use Crystals, you will probably have added or attached a Crystal to something that has relevance to your practice e.g a wand/staff or a BOS. So, for those of you just staring out with the question "why do people put crystals on things?", I will be answering that in this post!

Why do people put Crystals on things?

There are a couple of reasons, including:

- The Crystal/s correspond to the object and the object's purpose

- The person likes the Crystal

- The Crystal holds special meaning to the person

What can I put Crystals on?

You can put Crystals on practically anything but here are some ideas:

- Books of Shadows and Grimoire ( you can buy ones with Crystals already on them)

- Wands/Staffs, other tools

- Wards and other protections

- Offerings (if you do Deity/Spirit work and use Altars)

You can also turn Crystals into jewellery if you're a craft minded person!

Do I have to put Crystals on things?

No. Not everyone uses Crystals and Crystals aren't a requirement for Witchcraft, this is completely optional. If you want to put Crystals on to something, research the properties of said Crystal first and research what method you want to use for attaching said Crystal, check the following:

- Size of Crystal and object

- What the object is made out of

- The composition of the Crystal

- What method is most feasible to you

For example: if you want to attach a Crystal to a set of Witch Bells, you can tie the Crystal with rope or wrap it in wire to attach it (you can also get specifically designed chains for hanging Crystals). This method may also work for a staff but, it won't work for a book. Depending on what the book is made of, you may need a specific glue but, a trick here would be to find something like a pendant tray to put stick the Crystal too and then stick the pendant tray to the book.

I think we'll leave this here!! If you need to glue a Crystal onto something, make sure you are 100% sure of your decision as glue is hard to remove from some things!!

Blessings,
