Hello all!! Today I'm going to teach you how to lock your mirrors!!


(Apologies for the lateness, I overslept and it takes a while for me to get with it in the mornings!)


What is Mirror Locking?

Mirror Locking is a way to protect yourself and your home from negative energy. Mirrors absorbe energy just like other objects, however, a mirror can store and reflect energy back into the home! For example:

- There is a Chinese legend that states that reflections were in fact demons and malevolent spirits copying you and trying to steal your life and take your place


- We all know that Vampires traditionally couldn't see their reflection in mirrors for 2 reasons:

1 They were demons with no soul

2 The silver backing on mirrors of that time period (more on that later)


- Mirrors have been seen as gateways and doors to different realms and places in many cultures and mythologies



How do I lock a mirror?

There are several ways, including:

- Covering them during workings or when not in use

- Turning them away from you (obviously cannot be done on all mirrors e.g ones hanging on a wall)

- Drawing a protection symbol/Sigil in the 4 corners of the mirror or top and bottom if it's circular, with Moon Water, protection oil or salt water whilst visualising the protection and locking

- If your mirror is silver backed, the protection is already there (I'd still recommend cleansing from time to time) this is because silver was once thought to be a pure metal and this is why Vampires couldn't see their reflection as most mirrors were once backed with silver and Vampires were thought to be impure

- Clean with protection spray or Moon water and visualise wiping away the negativity

- Place a piece of paper with a protection symbol or Sigil in-between the backing and the mirror if you are able to do so



It is also important to cleanse your mirrors (use whatever method you prefer) and clean them. You can lock them by visualising your intent while doing so!!
