Tarot Tuesday - Queen of Swords
The Queen of Swords is associated with the element of Air and the planet Uranus (I've also seen Mercury and Venus)

In the card pictured above, we can see a skeleton in plain royal dresses with a crown on her head. She is holding a sword upright and looking towards the point, at which, a butterfly is near the point. There are 5 other butterflies with one near the crown, another near the back of her head, one near the handle, one near the hilt and the last is at the bottom, slightly off center. There are also 3 prominent stars, the largest being in the top right corner. It also looks like there are clouds in the background as well as some white specks.
Meaning
An upright Queen of Swords shows that you are an independent person. Your though process is fair but thorough and any judgement you have is unbiased. You have clear and reasonable boundaries that you enforce fairly and stick to. It is also a card of intelligence, it shows that you know that you are intelligent but you don't let it go to your head; you know when and to use your intelligence. It also shows that your communication is direct and clear. You are precise in your words and are always willing to take people aside and answer any questions in a none patronising manner.
Reversed Meaning
A reversed Queen of Swords shows that you are overly emotional and let your emotions lead your life without consulting your mind. This is detrimental as people will use your emotional state to take advantage of and easily influence you to get what they want. You may think you're being independent when you are in fact being bitchy, to be independent you need to be fair and have a clear thought process. You can also be misread as being cold hearted when you think you're being fair but, again, your emotions are getting the better of you and clouding your judgement. You need to stop, asses both yourself and the situation and, most importantly of all, communicate!! You may not like what people say but, the truth hurts: use that to grow as a person.
