Crystal Wednesday - Crystal Shapes - Skulls
Hi Guys,
In keeping with our Hallowe'en theme, I thought that I would look at skulls this week.
Crystal skulls have been used for millennia by our ancestors. They were used principally to store knowledge.
Our ancestors used mainly quartz skulls for this effect.
It is believed that many different cultures used them, from Inca to Maya to Atlantis!
Nowadays, the skull is used to signify either knowledge gain or ancestor communion, depending on what it is that you intend to use them for.
In the centre of a crystal grid, they create a strong focal point.
There are many styles of crystal skulls available on the market these days, from the human looking ones pictured above, to dragon skulls and alien skulls. Each has its own purpose and symbolism behind it.
Dragon skulls are used to help communicate and work with dragons and their own magicks. I don't own a dragon skull, but it is on my wish list!
Alien skulls are used to symbolise Starseeds and their knowledge. I have one in flourite that is currently sat on my altar.
Obviously, not everyone will choose to work with a skull, and many still fear them, either as a representation of their own mortality, or as a symbol of what is considered black magic.
I have always found that they have a positive energy, and I own many different skulls in many different crystals. Yes, the crystal it is carved from CAN make a difference to what you intend.
In general, I do not use mine in crystal grids, preferring, instead, to use them as a form of communication.
In order to do this, I light some incense and candles, get into a relaxed state, and lose myself gazing into the skull's eyes.
I guess that this is a form of meditation. I usually go into this with a question in mind, or thinking of a situation that occurred, then come out of it feeling lighter and more able to deal with the issues at hand.
I also use them for scrying - more on that in other posts.
Obviously, this post is just a general overview, I could write for weeks on the uses of skulls and their history, but there is plenty of that information already out there, so a quick internet search should help yield some answers for you.
