Emporiblog - Music In Spellwork

Hello all! I'm on a slight roll with posts! Here's one that I found interesting! This took a while to organise correctly so I apologise if it's not coherent

First off...

Do I Need To Use Music In Spellwork?

No, music in Spellwork is completely optional, it's all about personal preference and what you feel is right in the moment if at all

Are There Benefits To Using Music In Spellwork?

For some people it can be seen as a benefit as it can help boost your intentions as music comes under the element of Air and the lyrics can further boost intentions. For some, it can have the opposite effect as not everyone works well with sound, sometimes working in silence is better for some people

Choosing Your Music

Let's have a look at some of the ways you can choose music for Spellwork.

- Getting a song in your head. If when you're thinking about your spell and a song comes into your head, your guides/entities may have sent it to you or your intuition has, check the lyrics and tone of the song to see if it fits

- Google. Googling songs about whatever your spell is should provide a lot of results and lyrics for you to look through

- Going through playlists. Places like Spotify and YouTube have themed playlist you can go though. See if a song jumps out

Ways To Use Music In Spellwork

If you do decide to use music, there are a few ways you can do this....

- Playlists. If you have things like Spotify and YouTube, you can create playlists. I'd avoid doing this if you don't have the add free versions and just make a playlist using songs already on your phone

- Actual instruments. If you can play an instrument, you can play it while casting your spell, if you're doing a group ritual and have a few musicians in the group, you can combine efforts either in person or a video call wm

- CDs. Yes, you read that right. If you have a CD player and the right CD, you can use that. You can go even more old school and use a cassette player or a record player, perhaps even a gramophone (yes I know what those are!)

- Singing/Chanting. Your voice comes under the umbrella of working with the element of Air and what better way to give power to your own spell than with your own voice

- Combining the above. You can combine any of the above methods together

I think we'll leave this one here, if you have any questions, let me know!

Blessings,
