Emporiblog - The Grand Alignment
Hello all! We have something a little different for you today and it's a little out of my comfort zone so bare with me. If you're an Astrology Witch, mark your calendar! So, let's get into the most confusing thing I've ever had to research.....
What Is The Grand Alignment?
The Grand Alignment is an astrological where 6 or 7 planets appear in a curve or line in the sky at the same time
What Is A Planetary Alignment And How Do They Happen?
A planetary alignment or planetary parade occurs when multiple planets appear in the sky at the same time. While it sounds like a rare event, planetary parades are actually quite common due to something called the ecliptic. This ecliptic is an invisible, ever so slightly curved line that comes from the light the Sun traces across the sky during the day. We have an ecliptic due to how the planets in our solar system formed from the gas and dust that was once around our young Sun
Because of this, all of the planets in our solar system (Earth and Pluto included - I don't care what astronomers say, in this house Pluto is still a planet) will eventually crossover into the same orbital plane which allows them to come into the ecliptic line
When Is The Grand Alignment?
According to the internet, it will happen on the 28th of February in most locations (list for other locations at the bottom), which also happens to be the New Moon.
7 planets will appear in the sky. Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Mars will be visible to the naked eye. You'll need binoculars or possibly a telescope to see Uranus (insert joke here) and Neptune. Saturn on the other hand, may be a bit tricky to spot due to its position to the Sun so you may have to do some calculations depending on your exact geographical position to see it. The best time to start looking is right as the Sun starts to set
What To Look Out For + Extra Astrology
The planets should appear on the following order and constellations:
Mars - Will be a reddish colour. Highest in the alignment. Will be in Gemini ♊
Jupiter - Second brightest. Will be in Taurus ♉
Uranus - Will be in Aries ♈ but will also border Taurus
Venus - The brightest planet. Will be in Pisces ♓
Neptune - The faintest planet in the alignment. Will also be in Pisces ♓
Mercury - Close to the Sun so may be hard to find. Will be in Aquarius ♒
Saturn - Is a sort of golden colour. The hardest to find in the alignment. Will also be in Aquarius ♒
