What is the Major Arcana

The Major Arcana is part of a Tarot Deck and consists of 22 cards in the order as follows: 

- 0 The Fool
- 1 The Magician
- 2 The High Priestess
- 3 The Empress
- 4 The Emperor
- 5 The Hierophant
- 6 The Lovers
- 7 The Chariot
- 8 Justice + or Strength |
- 9 The Hermit
- 10 Wheel of Fortune
- 11 Strength + or Justice |
- 12 The Hanged Man
- 13 Death
- 14 Temperance
- 15 The Devil
- 16 The Tower
- 17 The Star
- 18 The Moon
- 19 The Sun
- 20 Judgement
- 21 The World

If you have a themed Deck, the names may be different so find the corresponding numbers to follow along as we post!


The Major Arcana denote:

- Important events that have happened in your life 

- Energetic overviews of the situation

- Important lessons that have been learnt or are to come

- More prominent meanings

- Powerful inner energies

- Your innermost self

The Major Arcana is said to represent 'a hero's journey' starting with the naivety of The Fool and ending with the World and all it encompasses. In so doing, they represent our journey and our quest through life, imparting the knowledge of the World to us along the way. There are those that only read with the Major Arcana and that's ok! It's up to you how you use your cards. 



For the coming Tarot Tuesdays, I will be exploring each card in the Major Arcana in detail, I will also be doing this with all of the Minor Arcana as well. Every now and then I will dedicate a TT to a card layout either an easier one or a more advanced spread. For our Major Arcana posts, I will be using my Alchemy Deck (pictured) because I love the artwork, for layout posts, I'll chop and change between my other Decks depending on the size of the spread and which ever Deck wants a turn.

Hello all!! We're continuing with Sigils today with another Pictorial Method!! This method has similarities to our first pictorial method, however, this method revolves around the Lo Shu Grid . This grid was invented during the time of Chinese Emperor Yu and every row, vertical, diagonal and horizontal, all equal 15. So, let's get to the method.....
